Simple & Delicious Recipe for Elk Rack

Here is a simple and delicious recipe for elk rack.

Ingredients

  • 1 elk rack (about 6-8 ribs)

  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 2 sprigs of fresh rosemary

  • 2 sprigs of fresh thyme


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. Season the elk rack generously with salt and black pepper.

  3. Heat a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Add the olive oil and swirl to coat the pan.

  4. Sear the elk rack, meat-side down, until browned, about 4 minutes.

  5. Transfer the skillet to the oven and roast for 15-20 minutes, or until an instant-read thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the meat registers 135°F (57°C) for medium-rare.

  6. Remove the skillet from the oven and let the elk rest for 10 minutes.

  7. In the meantime, add the garlic, rosemary, and thyme to the skillet and sauté for 1-2 minutes, or until fragrant.

  8. Carve the elk rack into individual ribs and serve with the herb sauce.
